What is the Patrick Peyton Institute for Families in Africa?
PPIFA is a ministry of Holy Cross Family Ministries and the Congregation of Holy Cross, Province of East Africa. Located in Jinja, Uganda, we equip family life ministers and pastoral agents to strengthen Christian marriage and family life across Africa through training, counselling, research, and media.
How do I apply for the Diploma in Counselling & Family Ministry?
Applications are open to candidates with a bachelor's degree or equivalent. The process includes submitting an application form, providing academic transcripts and references, and an interview. Visit our Training Programs page for full details or email admissions@ppifa.org.
Are counselling services available for individuals, or only couples?
Our counselling services are available for individuals, couples, and families. We support people through a wide range of challenges—from marriage and parenting to grief, addiction, mental health, and crisis. All sessions are confidential.
Can I visit the institute in person?
Yes—visits are welcome by appointment. PPIFA is located at the Holy Cross Jubilee Centre in Njeru, Jinja, Uganda. Please contact us in advance to schedule a visit so we can prepare for your arrival.
How can I support PPIFA's mission?
There are many ways to support us: prayer, financial gifts, partnerships, or volunteering your professional skills. We are currently raising funds for Phase II construction of the institute. Contact development@ppifa.org to learn more.
Do you offer services outside of Uganda?
Yes. While our campus is in Jinja, Uganda, our mission extends across Africa—serving the Church in the AMECEA region (East Africa) and the wider continent through the SECAM network. We also offer online programs and webinars for pastoral agents across Africa.
